DEALING WITH DAMAGED UNDERGROUND PIPES?
There’s probably no more dreaded home improvement or construction project than replacing underground pipes.
Traditionally it has been an expensive process that does nothing to enhance your property’s appearance or value with repairs involving excavation, property damage & a significant disruption.
You may not want to do it, but if your pipes are damaged and you’re experiencing issues, you may need to get them replaced.
However, is replacement your only solution? Not any more, thanks to Drainsplus and our pipe relining technology. Read on to learn more.

WHAT IS PIPE RELINING?
Pipe relining is a fantastic technology that has been available since at least the early 2000s but is still largely unknown as an alternative to traditional pipe replacement. As the name implies, it is a method plumbers can use that enables them to reline the interior of pipes to fix cracks, damage, or leaks.
Plumbers do pipe relining by inserting a specially designed tube/pipe liner through the lines. When the tube is in place, we inflate the tubing until it fits tightly against the walls of the host pipe. The outside of the tube is coated with a resin, which makes it adhere to the pipe. When it cures, the pipe relining provides a seamless, exceptionally durable seal, repairing the damage to the original pipe. This type of repair offers a permanent solution for damaged pipes, which can be administered to a small section of pipe or the entire pipe network.
The Perth Pipe Relining Process
In the past, if you wanted to repair a pipe, you had to dig—a messy, time-consuming, and costly exercise. Now, you can bypass all that, thanks to Pipe Relining, also known as trenchless pipe lining or trenchless sewer repair. Simply put, Pipe Relining creates a pipe within the existing pipe. The days of digging up the yard, jackhammering, disrupting (and rebuilding) your home’s structure are done. Pipe Relining means you can “line” an existing pipe where they are. As long as the pipe is structurally sound, we can reline the pipe! Here’s our simple mess-free process:
Step 1: Investigate & Diagnose
First, we look thoroughly into your existing pipes to determine the problem.
Step 2: Clear And Clean Pipes
After a thorough investigation, we clear the pipe of any debris using specialised technology.
Step 3: Insert Pipe Relining
Using our experience & technology, we insert a glass-reinforced line to reline the existing pipe.
Step 4: Cure, Cut & Celebrate
The relining bladder is then expanded, and, after its set, your pipe is now relined.

PIPE RELINING VS REPLACEMENT?
Replacing underground pipes can be an expensive nightmare. First, the damaged sections of pipe need to be located and the cracks in pipes identified. Then a trench needs to be dug, and then the old pipes need to be removed and replaced. This is a very labour and material intensive process which is costly, disruptive and when the job is done, you’re faced with further costs to repair the necessary damage to your property & landscape. In comparison, when you have your pipes relined usually we can a new single access hole has to be dug. No expensive trenching equipment is needed, generally, and this access hole is only about a meter squared on average. The tubing is far less expensive than new pipes and there’s no need to dispose of your old pipes, either. Aside from being less expensive than replacing old pipes, pipe relining takes less time, does less damage to your property & it is 4-5 times stronger than traditional pipes. Our pipe relining technology here at Drains Plus comes with a 50-year manufacturer warranty so it’s also a permanent solution.

IS PIPE RELINING WORTH IT FOR MOST CASES?
Pipe relining is usually better than replacement in most cases, however, if the damage to your plumbing system & host pipe is severe, it may not be sufficient. It is therefore important to have a professional assess any damage to determine whether pipelining is possible. If not, you will need pipe replacement.
To help indicate cost, we’ve found that most relining projects are usually 20% cheaper than what they’d cost to dig up and replace the drain plus it is a better long-term solution if it’s possible. The benefit of relining is that it’s often cheaper, stronger and, in most cases, all work gets completed on the same day with no mess or disruption to your property. Determining if pipe relining is worth it is up to you ultimately but there are many reasons to use pipe lining technology as an alternative to pipe replacement if you can.
How Long Does Pipe RELINING LAST?
The trenchless system of fixing pipes is, no doubt, durable, but the warranty offered by pipe relining services may differ. We are proud to offer a 35-year installation guarantee and a life expectancy of up to 50 years on our relining work.
If you experience any drainage issues within 35 years of your relining work being installed, our Perth Pipe Relining Company will attend to your property and assess the problem. If we find that the problem is caused by defective pipe relining installation, we will fix your problem-free of charge.
If it’s caused by a faulty pipe relining product, we’ll contact the manufacturer as they offer a 50-years manufacturer’s warranty.

What Our Customers Have To Say

Wouldn’t trust anyone else. Best plumbers in Perth! Honest, professional and efficient
Mark Elliott

Highly recommend Ian from Drains Plus. Great communication, arrived on time and worked efficiently. Found the issue and cleared out our disgustingly blocked drains without any damage or digging (which another plumber had told us we’d need to do).
Also inspected and fixed up a few other general plumbing issues while he was here, as well as recommending a few more small things to be done, but said we could do ourselves (although I’ll be getting him back to do them). Didn’t feel hard sold, they were genuine issues.
Ian was clean and tidy, and very respectful of our home and I felt the pricing was appropriate for the work completed. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommen
Emma Donkin
